Washing and Drying TENCEL™
TENCEL™ garments should be washed at low temperatures (max. 30°C) with likewise colors, using eco-friendly wool wash detergent. While handwashing is the safest method, you can also machine-wash your TENCEL™ pieces using the wool or delicates cycle. For further protection of the fabric, always turn your TENCEL™ pieces inside out during the washing process.
If you ever notice any white streaks or spots on your dark-colored TENCEL™ pieces, don’t worry; this might be laundry detergent residue and can be solved easily. Next time you wash your TENCEL™ pieces, try using a detergent specifically for darker colors, use less detergent, and choose to dilute liquid detergents.
Don’t use a tumble-dryer and opt for hang-drying. In order to avoid detergent residue on clothes of darker color, it’s also advised to wrap your TENCEL™ pieces in a clean towel to evenly remove excess water, before placing them on a clothing rack or hanger to dry.
Removing Stains from TENCEL™
Never use any bleach or harsh stain removers to get rid of stains on your TENCEL™ pieces. Instead, make sure to rinse stains immediately, using cold or warm water, depending on the stain (for more information, have a look at our Stain Removal Guide). If water alone doesn’t work, try applying some eco-friendly wool laundry detergent and gently dabbing the stain with a clean, damp cloth. Avoid scrubbing or rubbing as this can damage the fabric.
Removing Wrinkles from TENCEL™
If any wrinkles appear on your TENCEL™ items, it’s best to steam them, as this is the most gentle option. If you don’t own a steamer, you can use an iron on the low heat or steam setting.
