Through our Women Who Inspire Us series we aim to highlight women who live their lives in a way that we find empowering. With each feature we introduce you to someone who has crossed our path - virtually or IRL - and left a lasting impression.
Alexandria Coe is one of those women. As an artist, she explores the human body to express what it feels like to be a woman - with thoughtfulness, imagination, and a quiet honesty. Her reflections on slow living, self-connection, and finding inspiration in history remind us of the beauty in simplicity and presence.
Today, we’re excited to share our #WomenWhoInspireUs conversation with Alexandria.
Introducing - Alexandria Coe

How do you describe what you do?
I draw, and sometimes I paint. I focus on the human body as a way to express to the world how it feels to be a woman.
Name three words that describe you.
Indecisive, thoughtful, deeply imaginative.
Share some moments that calm your mind and make you happy. What do you do to unwind and reconnect with yourself?
I actually love travelling, and it’s not even important where you are going - just the trajectory of movement, the liminal space in between; like a long walk, a train journey, or waiting at an airport. For me, it’s a space where the version of yourself that exists for others or for yourself is in flux. Thoughts become more vivid - clearer. Emotions are raw, but you feel more conscious.
What does slow living mean to you?
Living without the need for a specific outcome. You can’t control anything—and if you think you can, you’ll always be disappointed.

Tell us about your morning routine!
Coffee and no emails. Especially some time alone to just sit without talking.
Where do you find your inspiration?
Looking into the past - especially old relics and ancient history.
Knowing what you know now, what would you tell your 18 year old self?
Life is short, but it can feel even shorter if you keep following a path you didn’t want to take.
Can you highlight a specific piece of clothing you've owned for a long time that holds a special place in your heart, and share the story behind it?
I wear a pair of antique gold heart-shaped earrings - my mother bought them for me - and I don’t see her often, so they’re always with me, which makes me feel closer to her. I only take them off to sleep.
Your current or all time favorite song?
Leonard Cohen - Suzanne
