A family-run garment factory in northern Portugal, founded in 1998. 35 employees, 33 of whom are women. GOTS certified.
They specialise in jersey and fleece, from basic cuts to more complex constructions, and handle the full process in-house: pattern development, cutting, sewing, quality control, and packing.
The people
8-hour days. 5-day weeks. 22 paid vacation days per year. Wages are above the Portuguese minimum. On top of that: free transport to and from work, a daily food allowance, a punctuality bonus, and a warm soup made from vegetables grown on site. These are choices the factory has made, not requirements.
Half of managers and owners are women. The team ranges in age from 24 to 61.
The environment
Solar panels cover the full roof — installed in 2019. Automatic taps reduce water use. Fabric scraps are recycled or reused for similar orders. Leftover yarns are kept and matched to future production runs. All other waste is separated and sent for recycling. Items with minor faults are donated to local institutions. Pattern-placing software minimises how much fabric is wasted at the cutting stage.
Why we work with them
We asked them to complete a detailed social and environmental assessment. Their answers were specific and verifiable. They're in Europe, which means we can visit easily and reduce transportation emissions.
