Product Developer & Production Manager (m/f/d)
Type of employment: Part-Time
Hours: 20-30 hours per week
Start: Flexible (preferably January 2026)
Location: Remote (preferably Berlin or Vienna)
At The Slow Label, we believe in fashion with purpose. We are a sustainable fashion company creating high-quality, timeless clothing while promoting responsible consumption. Our mission is to redefine the fashion industry by prioritizing ethics and sustainability without compromising on style.
We’re looking for an experienced Product Developer & Production Manager to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with our founder/creative director, our freelance designer, and our network of suppliers and manufacturers. You will oversee the development of new products from concept through to final delivery, ensuring consistency, quality, and on-time production. As you will be working across multiple categories—including knitwear, jersey, intimates, swim, accessories, and wovens—previous experience in a similar role is essential. Because we focus on a curated, timeless collection with fewer new launches and many restocks, this role is well-suited to a 20-30 hour work week. Our emphasis is on quality, longevity, and responsible growth—not fast fashion timelines.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and improve products across all categories (wovens, knitwear, accessories, etc.): create concepts, select colors/fabrics/trims, prepare sketches and tech packs — depending on qualifications, optionally in collaboration with our freelance designer.
- Manage development from initial idea to delivery at our warehouse.
- Coordinate product development, sourcing, buying, production, and logistics.
- Research and implement sustainable innovations for fabrics, yarns, trims, and accessories.
- Conduct fittings and oversee product adjustments.
- Manage manufacturer relationships: identify and onboard new suppliers, conduct assessments, and nurture existing partnerships.
- Oversee certification management and compliance.
- Source, sample, and purchase materials.
- Create and maintain spec sheets, updating them throughout development.
- Manage sub-suppliers and related logistics (e.g., packaging, labels, extras).
- Maintain production calendars and communicate deadlines to factories, ensuring scheduled delivery dates are met.
- Arrange and oversee quality-control checks ahead of delivery to ensure workmanship and consistency.
- Communicate potential delays or changes to delivery schedules with internal and external teams.
- Verify invoices and shipping documents against agreed quantities and prices.
- Support go-to-market preparation (collection briefs, product information).
- Identify opportunities to reduce lead times and costs while maintaining quality.
- Drive continuous improvement in workmanship, quality, and sustainability standards.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of experience in product development and production management, ideally within sustainable fashion.
- Strong knowledge of garment construction, materials, fabric sourcing, and production processes across multiple categories.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills; ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills in English (German is a plus).
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality, consistency, and sustainability.
- Proactive, solution-oriented, and comfortable working independently.
- Comfortable working remotely while maintaining close coordination with a small team.
If you’re passionate about sustainable fashion, have a proven track record in product development and production, and want to help shape the future of a growing brand, we’d love to hear from you! Please send your CV, a short cover letter, and any relevant references to jobs@theslowlabel.com with the subject line Product Developer & Production Manager – The Slow Label.

As we move into our next phase of building a lean, profitable, and scalable business, we are seeking an experienced Head of Operations to join as a strategic partner to our founder, Anna-Laura Amenta.
THE ROLE
As Head of Operations, you will take ownership of the operational and commercial backbone of the business. You’ll bring clarity, efficiency, and structure to our small team while overseeing production, logistics, and e-commerce. Beyond daily operations, you will own the P&L, set and monitor growth targets, and drive financial planning, ensuring the brand develops sustainably and profitably.
The role is focused primarily on direct-to-consumer growth in Europe (with a strong presence in the DACH region), with the potential to explore wholesale or further market expansion in the future. You will act as a sparring partner to the founder, complementing her focus on brand, marketing, and creative direction with operational excellence and strategic discipline.
For the right candidate, there is potential for equity and a long-term partnership.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead day-to-day operations, ensuring smooth processes across production, logistics, and e-commerce.
- Own the P&L: set budgets, track KPIs, and manage forecasting.
- Define and deliver on growth targets while ensuring profitability.
- Manage and support our small team: clarify roles, hire as needed, and foster a strong, purpose-driven culture.
- Oversee supply chain and production planning to balance efficiency, quality, and sustainability.
- Solve operational and business challenges with a hands-on, proactive approach.
- Explore opportunities for new channels (e.g., wholesale) and markets while consolidating our core direct-to-consumer business.
- Act as a strategic sparring partner to the founder, bringing structure and financial rigor to complement the creative vision.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of experience in operations, general management, or business development (fashion, consumer goods, or e-commerce preferred).
- Proven ability to manage P&L, deliver growth, and build scalable operational structures.
- Strong financial and analytical skills with a data-driven mindset.
- Natural leader with experience managing and growing small teams.
- Comfortable in a lean, entrepreneurial environment — able to balance strategy with day-to-day problem solving.
- Passionate about fashion, branding, and sustainable growth.
OUR OFFER
- The chance to join as a true partner in shaping the future of a growing sustainable fashion brand.
- Flexible working arrangements (remote-first, with preference for Berlin-based candidates).
- Potential equity stake for the right candidate.
- A creative, purpose-driven company culture where your impact is tangible and valued.
