Our founder, Anna-Laura Amenta, formerly based in Berlin, shares her favorite places to eat and drink in the city. From cozy breakfast cafés to laid-back lunch spots and memorable dinner destinations, this guide offers a taste of Berlin through the lens of slow, thoughtful living - the same values that inspire everything we do at The Slow Label.
Slow Mornings

WIM
Coffee perfection in every detail - beans weighed with precision, brews made with care, and a team so friendly and attentive you’ll feel like a regular on your first visit. When we’re not making coffee at home, we’re here.
Sonnenburger Straße 68, 10437 Berlin
SOFI
Tucked away in a courtyard in central Berlin, this danish bakery turns heirloom grains into beautifully crusty loaves and delicate pastries. My go-to place for sourdough bread!
Sophienstraße 21, 10178 Berlin
Midday Pause

CHIPPERFIELD KANTINE
A design-lover’s lunch spot inside David Chipperfield’s studio, where simple, seasonal plates are served in a sun-drenched modernist canteen.
BALABAIT EATERY & DELI
Tel Aviv soul food in the heart of Berlin, offering homey, spice-laden plates. I always get the Sabich Pita and a Challah to go!
Gleimstraße 42, 10437 Berlin, Germany
Dinner Date (or Just Because)

NOVEMBER BRASSIERIE
A contemporary Japanese brasserie in Prenzlauer Berg. The minimalist, mid-century modern interior exudes a warm ambiance. After welcoming our new baby, my husband and I chose November Brasserie for our first date night and couldn't have had a better experience.
THE TREE
A cozy, plant-filled spot serving incredible Sichuan flavors, where the fried tofu and the rich, sesame-peanut Kapok noodles are my go-to favorites. Warm, welcoming, and always satisfying.
A Few More Worth Mentioning
Berlin has no shortage of unique places to eat and drink. A few more of my favorites: Banh Mi Stable, for quick, flavor-packed Vietnamese bites enjoyed best in the park next door. FREA, a pioneer in zero-waste, plant-based dining that makes sustainability feel exciting. Material, an effortlessly cool all-day café serving natural wine and comfort food with heart. And Estelle Dining, where Nordic-Mediterranean fusion meets neighborhood charm and a great wine list. Each one is worth a visit—whether you're a local or just passing through.
